This coming Saturday, February 6th, the Stoneybatter Band will be performing in a folk festival to benefit the victims of the Earthquake in Haiti at the Natick Crowne Plaza, 1360 Worcester St., from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Hampton Ballroom. Stoneybatter is scheduled to take the stage at 1:55 pm and will be performing for a half hour.
All proceeds from the event will be sent to Mercy Corps, which will use the donations to help victims of the earthquake in Haiti. The minimum donation is $10 for adults and $5 for children. There will also be a bake sale and refreshments.
Also featuring performances by The Stringbenders, Mark Peter Schmitt, Steven
Harris, and The Tuesdays.
The Stringbenders have been drawing a crowd for more than a decade and listening to a couple of tracks from Mark Peter Schmitt’s myspace page should let you know that we’re in for a treat.
It should be a great time all around with plenty of great folk, Celtic, and bluegrass tunes. Come on down, enjoy the music, the baked goods and feel good about making a difference!
